School Parade

The day finally arrived!!! Savy all week has been super excited to get the chance to be in a halloween parade and wear his power rangers costume too.
Heres a picture of Savy and his best friend from school and fall soccer, Hudson. Yeah you see right their both going as the red power ranger this year.
I don't know who this little boy is but he was so frigging cute I wanted to take him home with me. He's woody from toy story.
Marv wanted to wear his blue power ranger costume to the parade too. No harm so I let him.
I like that these two were right behind each other. Good vs. Evil!!!
I couldn't resist taking this picture of this little girl. She has got to be the sadest Hannah Montana I have ever seen...( In more ways then one)
Savy and Hudsons again. The vampire in front of the line is Devon.

The costumes that these kids wore in the parade we so cute and thrifty as well. I had so much fun watch the kids walk down the front of the school to the scary halloween music.

Pumpkin Painting

Today during art time for the daycare we painted pumpkins, well actually they are speg. squash but the kids had no idea that they weren't REAL pumpkins. First off I made the parents bring in cloths that they didn't mind us getting all yucky in. After getting in the cloths we went outside and picked out the squash to paint and wrote our names on them so we would know whose masterpiece would go with what family. I put the paint into individual tins so that no one would fight over colors. I told the kids try not to mix the colors.

Before the kids started painting
not even 20 seconds later. SERIOUSLY!!

Savy's Master Face.

Marv giving his approval on the activity fun. Luna is painting her hand at this point because she can put anymore paint on her squash.

Fall Fest!!

This weekend the post housing sponsored a Childrens Fall Fest Saturday October 24th from 10am-1pm. Savy and Marv were super excited to attend. There were kids EVERY WHERE!!! Earlier this week I had watched a program on TV that talked about how kids are snatched everyday and its in the places that you least expect it. So I was having panic attack after panic attack because the boys were running wild around the event. Sarah and her kids went with us so I shouldn't have been so freaked out after all I had myself and her looking out for the kids. Never the less my children were not stolen and we had a blast.

Here is Marv and Savy up on the giant spider made out for a painted black hay bale. Marv actually didn't want to get up on it when I suggested it for fear that it would eat him because he said he was young and juicy.

HAHAH!! Marv with his new prize he won for dunking a basketball in a hoop. Note throughout this blog he wore them ALL DAY!!
Marv and Ollie fishing at one of the many booths they had for the kids to win prizes. Good planning by Marv to wear his big yellow rain boots. I told him he wouldn't need them that morning and he had stated that you never know when you'll need your rain boots..( SUCH A SMART BOY)
Luna and her pumpkin that she picked from the pumpkin patch they had set up. We later painted it like a kitty cat face. While we waited for it to dry we went over to the food booth to grab a hotdog some chips and a cold frosty beverage. ( FREE)
After eatting it was over to the fall fest photo booth where families can capture memories. Marv is here trying to invade this families special photo.
Finally before heading home it was time for the best part...SNOW CONES!!!!

Later that nite be had a friend watch Luna and we took thier 7yr old Trevon to the Haunted House. It was so freaky and spine crawling the kids got so scared that they begged us to let them stop. HAHAHA so we heading home for tubbies and bed.
The end to a great day!!

Melissa's last playgroup with us!!!

For the last year a few other mothers and myself have been hosting playgroups has each others homes and it has been so much fun not only for the kids but for us as well. This friday we sent yet another mother and dear friend Melissa Wright off with one last play group. We went to Chuck E Cheese this time to let the kids run free.

Heres Luna's favorite party of the whole Chuck E Cheese experience... FOOD!!
Savy on the bike that doesn't seem very safe to me. He rode it 3 times just to spite me Im sure.
Marv Cruising with his buddy ChuckE!! Don't ask me why he has a pirate bandana on its what he put on that morning and refused to take off...again to spite me I'm sure.
The kiddo's eatting some pizza and savy in the back ground singing and dancing along to a music video..( note savy on the two tv screens above his head)

It was yet another fun play group for the fort rucker moms group, but at the end it was sad to think that Mel will never be at another play group again. She and her family are off to ALASKA!!! Having said that Melissa if your reading this. You have been a pleasure to get to know and I wish you and your family the best of luck in the future to come. XOXOXOXO!!

Savy Turns 5 Years Old!!!

I can't believe that my little man is well turning into such a BIG boy. Wednesday, October 14th Savy woke up to celebrate his 5th birthday. We started the morning out with a big hearty breakfast of pancakes and savys favorite sprinkles, fresh peach slices and milk. Savy's best friend Trevon (whose 7 yrs old) spent the nite before over plus the kids were on Fall break so there was no school, I still had to work that day but that didn't stop us from having fun. After Lunch be invited a few more little friends over to sing "Happy Birthday" and have cupcakes. Savy really enjoyed that and well the kids did too because my floor was a mess after all the kids left and I got the daycare kiddos tucked away for nap time. ( I LOVE NAP TIME!!! just a side note) After I got done with work and Tony got home we decided that a special day such as a birthday is entitled to a dinner out ( Birthday boys choice) Savy decided that he wanted to go to Applebee's, so off we went. After returning from a great dinner we iced the cake and sang "Happy Birthday"AGAIN!!! Then it was time to OPEN THE PRESENTS!!! We bought savy a new bike for his birthday because he has out grown the old one. ( he has been riding 2 wheels since he turned three anyways) He was so excited that we let him open all the other presents that his nonnie sent him so he got a new helmet, gloves, pads, electric horn ( another side note ANNOYING ) License plate with his name on it and a water bottle to attach to his new ride. From Grampy he got a new bumble bee transformer arm. ( again annoying). The this Saturday October 17th we had a BIG PARTY, with the theme of bikes. All the guests ( 21 to be exact) rode thier bikes to the party. We had hotdogs, homemade Mac&Cheese, salsa, chips, homemade jalp. poppers ((Jalp. stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon)( SO HOT BUT SO YUMMY))After eatting and letting the kids play in the back yard, I rounded all the kids up and we went on a little bike ride around the block. Its was nice the weather actually felt like Autumn with a temp of 65ish and also because some of the mothers said that the ride was the longest their child ridden a bike. (hence it's so hot in Alabama to ride anywheres). After the bike ride it was time for the cake and presents. I didn't do the traditional birthday cake thing for the party because he has already had cupcakes and cake on the actual day earlier in the week. So instead we stuck the candle in so homemade fudge brownies and sang the "Happy Birthday" song then we made ice sundea's with all the fixings. ( YUMMY). The party was a big hit and super crazy as well because there were soooo many kids in one place, but everyone had fun and the party turned out to last 5 1/2 hours.

Long weekend of excitment

This weekend was a long weekend so we tried to keep the kids busy so that they wouldn't be BORED!! When our children are bored they are SO annoying. They ask too many question and I never know what the answer is and Savy is getting to0 old to fall for the fake made up on the spot answers. Regardless we did a bunch of fun things.

I blow up the kiddo pool that Melissa sold to us off her yard sale last weekend. Note that Savy is sure not to drown in the 2 feet of water. He's always prepared for anything.
We went bowling on Saturday after they attended a birthday party at our friend Shawnda's house. BAD IDEA!!!! Savy was all about going bowling. I actually wanted to stay home with Luna because I was so tired from sitting in the hot humid Alabama heat at the birthday party. But because I didn't want to be a meanie and sent Tony alone with the boys I ended up sucking it up and going..ANOTHER BAD IDEA!!! Luna wanted to run around and Marv wanted to slide down the tail of the kiddie bowling ramp. We only played one game thank god because that game lasted FOREVER!!!
Marv before he realized that the dragons tail made a good slide.
On Sunday we loaded the kids and went out to the Enterprise Park/Playground. Luna is getting so big and brave on the playground she loves climbing up the stairs to the slide (even though it takes her 10 mins to get up them) and then she'll slide down on her belly and then does it all over again. It's so cute because she screams all the way down. (HAHHAHA)
Marv on the other hand wasn't being so brave because he was super scared to hang off the monkey bars, even when Tony was right there to hold him up. At least he looks cool while screaming to let him down.

Today was the holiday so I we didn't have to work but it still turned out to be a busy day for me at least. I bleached my whole house, washed the floors on my hands and knees and Shampooed the carpets. I'm still doing laundry as I post this blog. Having said that I better stop stalling and get my butt in gear and start folding the clean cloths pile in the laundry room.

The month of October is Fire Safety Month..( i personally had no idea) but never the less I take advantage of the fact that this opens the possibility of a field trip for my little daycare buggers without actually going very far. So today Sarah and I load up the triple jogger stroller ( yes they actually exist and its so easy to push too) with the three smallest children (Luna, Emily and Landon) and Sarah pushes the Double stroller with the love birds ( Marvin and Ollie) Savy decides that he wanted to ride his bike. I usually walk with Sarah every morning anyways from 8am-9am So the kids are use to the walking. What the children don't know is that this walk is going to be better then any other walks we've taken. We're going to see the FIRE TRUCKS!!!! When we reached the Youth Center on Post, Marvin and Savy start screaming and getting really excited.

This is Emily, she is two years old an has been in my program since I started.
This is a group picture of all the other FCC Providers and thier children that attended the Fire Safety Fun Day.
Luna and Marv. Luna looks like she really is getting into the whole fire girl act.
Such a dang cute!!!! This hat on the other hand didn't make it home before it was ruined.

I am so glad that I decided to take the kids to see the fire trucks because it was a great way to make the older kids (Emily, Savy, Ollie and Marv) realize that fire safety is VERY important and Savy now thinks that he wants to be a fire fighter when he gets older. Last month note he wanted to be an astronant.

So today we ventured out into the world of Pumpkins. There was fun for all once we actually found the place. I guess the location is so remote that our GPS system couldn't even find it. But once we reach the lovely Aplin Farms in Dothan, AL the kids got excited because they remembered that we went here last year. This farm is located on a large piece of land that is covered with pumpkins and sunflowers and a variety of other veggies. There's a small petting zoo, with cows, pigs, billy goats, baby chicks, rabbits and the smelly donkeys. There is a Corn Maze and demostration barn where the kiddos can learn how to milk a cow and check for eggs under chickens (not real ones stuff animal chickens)

This is a picture of the kiddos on the way back from the pumpkin patch were they were able to pick their very own pumpkins from the vine. We also were able to choose a sunflower to take home with us.
The Jacobson went with us as well. This is Ollie (Olivia Jacobson) she is super cute and it's always a blast to see Marv and her together, you never know what they will say or do.
Tony, Matt Jacobson, Savy and Trevon Jacobson are here in the distance trying to find the biggest and plumpest pumpkin possible to bring home. Savy found a really big one but the rule is if you can't carry it then you can't have it.
Marv drinking a juice box because he said he was super duper thirsty. Also hes at the petting zoo part of the farm.
Luna really liked the chickens and she let them know by screaming at them and of course waving to them.
This was my attempt of getting a mommy & daughter picture with Luna. I look like a freak and well she has other things on her mind.
This is the pumpkin Marv picked from the vine to take home with him. It wasn't the best choice but his choice never the less. So we brought it home.
Savy venturing his way back to the tractor and wagon with his prize pumpkin.
The sunflowers went on for miles it was so beautiful.

All and all even after getting lost and driving 30 mins in the wrong direction (twice) it was a great time and the kids had so much fun. Tomorrow we decorate for Halloween. I love fall time so much, just wish that we were back in New England where falls beauty is breath taking.
