The Great Pumpkin Races on Lake Champlain, VT

Over the weekend we attended our very first Vermont outting. Thanks to Peter who called us to remind us that the Pumpkin races were going on and he offered to escort us to the grand event. I have never seen pumpkins at such a large mass before this day.. They were actually big enough for grown men and women to sit in!!! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day either.
Lake Champlain dock, where the races took place.

Group picture of the posse at the event, and yes that is Ruby with us, Vermont is very dog friendly. Seems everyone HAS one.
And the starting point of the race once again but this time with the competing pumpkin racers.
and their OFF!!!
Around the bend they go!!!
Couldn't help but take this picture! I am so in love with the scenery one can find around every corner of Vermont.
Court yard where we all stopped to enjoy some Ben & Jerry's ice cream.
Yes SIZE DOES MATTER!!
After the races and some ice cream it was off to Church St. to see what was happening. This is water fountain is located at the end of the street.
This is a picture of a LIVE woman sitting on Church St. She was trying to make tips by covering herself in white paint and sitting so still that I actually thought it was a statue until I saw a faint blink of her eye while watching closely.
